| We Have Arrived |
Yes! We’ve arrived!!!
This is indeed a RED LETTER day for the Golden Isles! After a long struggle to make the USPS known in the south coastal Georgia area and get people thinking about boating safety, the Golden Isles Sail & Power Squadron is now fully chartered and functioning as a squadron, no longer a “provisional squadron”!
Our provisional Commander, Audie Holmes, and provisional Education Officer, Paullette Harris-Holmes attended the national meeting in Charlotte, N.C. to formally have us recognized and to start getting out the word about our new squadron.
As in any organization, as hard as it is to start, the work is just beginning. We still need to get the official squadron burgee approved and make preparations for our first non-provisional bridge of officers. Details on the new bridge will come out soon. Today, we just celebrate our new beginning!
