Golden Isles Sail & Power Squadron formally installs its first Bridge of officers

The Golden isles Sail and Power Squadron formally installed its first full bridge of officers Friday, December 1, 2006 at the River House of the Quality Inn on St. Simons Island, GA. This hard earned and long awaited occasion was well-attended and graced by the remarks of District 26 Commander Archie Trawick, SN, down from Columbia, SC for the occasion with District Education Officer Eric Pearson, SN.

Festivities began at 1800 hours with a social hour and the Call for the Change of Watch followed at 1900 hours. Upon conclusion of dinner Provisional Squadron Commander Audie Holmes, AP opened the formalities, Flag Lt. Jeannette Wheeler led the Pledge of Allegiance and Lt. Cox spoke the Invocation

Commander Holmes, AP then recognized some of the many people who had made great efforts to bring the GISPS to this point and introduced District Commander Trawick, SN to give his own remarks and lead the Dismissal of the 2006 Bridge and the Installation of the 2007 Bridge, the first complete Bridge in the GISPS’ short history.

Final remarks were given by our new commander before Lt. Cox gave the Benediction and the Commander finished with the adjournment to close the meeting and launch the new year.
