| Change of Watch |
GISPS just completed another milestone, and in style!
The second annual Golden Isles Sail and Power Squadron Change of Watch, the
first in which there was an actual CHANGE of Watch, went off beautifully at
Bonefish Grill on St. Simons Island, GA on Saturday, December 1, 2007. In
accordance with USPS by-laws, year 2007 and initial Commander Audie Holmes, JN
handed off command to the District 26 Commander Powers, SN who then swore in our
2008 Commander Chas Wilsdorf, SN.
New Commander Wilsdorf then asked District 26 L/C Snow to do the honors of
swearing in the remainder of the 2008 GISPS Bridge.
The 2008 Bridge includes the following slate of officers:

In their respective speeches, the outgoing and incoming commanders
shared their vision of where we have come and where we need to go. Major
emphasis, especially as a very new squadron, was on growing the
membership rolls and developing the members. Along these lines, it
should also be mentioned that now P/C Holmes used the Change of
Watch to swear in four new members to get us on our way.
As far as we have come in this last year, we have great challenges
ahead and look to a very capable and focused new Bridge to lead us
this next leg of our collective journey! |
